My musical journey started at the age of 5-years when I took piano lessons. I was inspired by my father, Dairo, a world- renowned tenor and actor from Italy. His love of music and performing introduced me to the world of music. I grew up in Santa Barbara, California and there were a lot of hot entertainment venues in Hollywood only hours from me. I fell in love with the guitar and started playing it.
I traveled to Gazarees on the Strip with his band, Smoke ‘n’ Burn and won the "Battle of the Bands"; no easy feat. This propelled me towards greater opportunities including touring with noted artists such as Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Iron Butterfly, Tower of Power and more. “Smoke ‘n’ Burn” , now known as, " The Rick Maiani Band", continues to delight fans with songs such as "Lesthair", “Mad Scientist" and "Precious Time" becoming, in their own right, hits and cult classics.
I would love to invite you to hang out with me in Las Vegas.
