About me
Hello! First of all, thanks for checking out my profile. I am a fourth-generation citizen of Carmel who's great-grandfather was the first elected Mayor of nearby Pacific Grove--suffice to say, I know Carmel and the rest of the Monterey Peninsula like few others. As far as personality goes, I am what I call "quietly gregarious", and by that I mean friendly, very much a people-person but definitely not the cheer-leader type.

In my free time I "work" as an artist & sculptor, and my artwork has been shown and/or sold at various venues including the Westbrook Modern galleries in Carmel-by-the-Sea and the Minna Annex of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, to name a few. I also dabble in residential real estate, so I am well-versed in the local housing market.
My Offer
There simply is no substitute for local knowledge! Born in Carmel-by-the-Sea, raised in small town Pacific Grove and living now in Carmel Valley, I have worked as a shop assistant at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, sold fine-art in Carmel-by-the-Sea and worked in the scuba diving trade on Cannery Row, among others. I can show you things as disparate as the secret "back-door" passages of downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, Monterey's little known sea-glass beach and the best (seasonal) hiking trails of Big Sur. I can take you to Clint Eastwood's wonderful restaurant on the Carmel River Lagoon (and no, it's not the Hog's Breath), introduce you to some of the best wine tasting rooms in Carmel Valley and give you a private guided tour of both the world-famous 17 Mile Drive and the very best of the Carmel art galleries. I can even arrange a classic vintage car for you to drive for a few hours or a few days while you're here, as well as recommend the best restaurants, hotels and even day-trips. Booking Request

The Citysurfing local will receive your request and message you back to clarify any questions they may have. If they agree to offer their services to you, they will create and send you a customized offer which will allow you to finalize your booking.

Each listing owner decides how they will receive payments for their services. If they selected “Prepay at Booking” you will need to prepay for the offer when you finalize your booking. If they selected “Pay at Meeting” you can make your payment in the local currency when you meet.

Loved this experience! Duncan was fun and knowledgeable. It was a great way to see the city and learn about things to do beyond the landmarks. We had spent time in Monterey before, but having a guide makes the city really come alive.
