I am as local as they come native at best. My great grandfather on my mother's side built the old Cooper River Bridge in the 1920's and on my dads side our oldest dated grandfather was born in 1823 and in the confederacy. My family have all been born and raised here. This city along with the surrounding islands are my lifeline. I would be glad to fill you in on the places and history. Plus, I'm a lot of fun and know more than tour guides.
My Offer
We will begin with a very long walk downtown Charleston. I will take you to the Battery, Market Street, Waterfront Park and East Bay Street. If we have time, we will take a ride to Folly Beach, the Edge of America. I will tell you about our pirates and some dark history, that the tour guides do not know. Later, after visiting Washout Beach where all of the surfers hang, we will go to Mt.Pleasant and visit Sullivan's Island and we will sit down at Poe's Tavern, which is based on Edgar Allan Poe or to Red's Ice House, if it's on a Monday for all you can eat crab legs. Also, on James Island we can head down to Bowen's Island and eat at the very restaurant that appeared in Dear John. I can take you to any part of Charleston or even to the lakes, the outskirts of Charleston. Just contact me and we will plan a day, two days or three days.
